Over the past few months, my frustrations around the many platforms I have been hosting my audio content has vapourised. A new platform has arrived where where audiobooks, conversations, teachings, meditations, music, the spoken and sung word can co-exist.
It is called New Reality Journeys, or NRJ.
Already, over 30 Guides have joined us, with more arriving each week, and together they have published more than fifteen full days of continuous listening. Big thanks to all of you that have made that dream a reality in such a short space of time,
For now, however, we are not yet inviting people to join simply as listeners.
Before we open the doors more widely, early in September, I would like to find more of the right authors, musicians, teachers and audio creators to help shape what NRJ becomes.
Your work can become a Journey
Most audio platforms expect creators to upload a finished product.
NRJ works differently.
An author does not need to wait until an entire audiobook has been recorded. A book can be published chapter by chapter, allowing listeners to begin the Journey while the remaining chapters are still being written or recorded.
A musician can release an album track by track, build a collection over time or create an evolving sequence of soundscapes, compositions or spoken-word pieces.
Courses, meditations, poetry, stories and other creative works can also unfold progressively.
Listeners can favourite a Journey, or a guide, and receive an email when a new chapter, track or instalment is added.
The work does not have to arrive as a sealed box. It can grow in public, gather momentum and become something living.
Get early feedback on your creations and encourage listeners to get involved with your creative process and its direction.
Let listeners enter the creative space
Each chapter or track can become its own point of interaction.
Listeners can pause, comment, ask questions and share reflections on an individual chapter, meditation or piece of music – and even interact with other listeners.
The Guide can reply directly, creating a conversation around the work as it unfolds.
For an author, this means readers can respond to particular chapters rather than only reviewing the completed book.
For a musician, listeners can engage with individual tracks, lyrics, compositions or the stories behind them.
Your work becomes a discussion.
Some Journeys may invite rich interaction. Others can remain quiet, uninterrupted listening experiences. The creator decides what suits the work.
This makes NRJ more than another shelf for storing audio. It becomes a meeting place between the creator, the work and the people experiencing it.
NRJs are cross platform experiences, from desktop to app and back again.
Become a listener, then become a Guide
Every NRJ Guide first becomes a subscribed listener.
This is intentional.
It means Guides experience the platform from the listener’s side before publishing their own work. Their subscription also helps support the platform they are joining and gives them some skin in its future.
Once onboarded, Guides can create a profile, publish multiple Journeys, introduce their existing audience to NRJ and begin developing a revenue stream.
Guides can earn recurring referral income from subscribers they introduce and participate in revenue sharing according to the listening time their work attracts.
Rather than simply supplying content to someone else’s platform, Guides become active participants in an ecosystem they help to sustain and grow.

NRJ began because I wanted one place where all my own creative work could live, without being squeezed into the conventions of existing meditation, audiobook or music platforms.
It has rapidly become something much larger.
The first Guides to come on board are already showing how many different forms a Journey can take. We are now looking for the next wave of authors, musicians and imaginative creators who can see what becomes possible when their work is allowed to unfold rather than merely be uploaded.
