Getting in the Zone

The ZoneWe know when we are in the zone and we know when we are out of the zone.

What we are not often sure of is where the zone actually is.

So I have set out on a bit of a mission this year and that’s to explore The Zone, to find out where it is and to draw up a map for others to follow and explore themselves.

So what you will see this year is:

  • At least three or more books on the subject
  • A new Udemy ecourse called Getting in the Zone
  • A series of interviews with people who spend time in and out of the zone

This is the first of many blogs on this subject and here’s an ‘amuse bouche’ to help you get in the zone each day …

Time Heals

Healing with TimeOne of the obvious outcomes from learning to ’bend time’ is being able to get more things done in less time.

Recently I’ve discovered that the principles behind time bending can be used in the healing process.

I studied timeline therapy some years ago which uses regression and progression in the healing process. It is a useful technique which largely relies on imagination to work.

By ’softening time’, however, I found the existing physical and mental trauma can actually be ’loosened’ and replaced by the pre-existing ’undamaged’ part of the body, or psyche.

Furthermore, the healing can be further enhanced by sprinkling in a bit of future entanglement. When healing an externally visible complaint, you can even see it blur and disappear in front of your eyes.

This technique uses ’morphic resonance’, as described and popularised by Rupert Sheldrake, so the symptom in the present is ’vapourised’ and replaced by healthy tissues or neurology. The process is especially powerful when combined with ‘Reiki-style’ energy healing and a sprinkling of Soul Part Integration.

Even I am surprised at how effective, quick and permanent the treatments are working. The types of things that can be instantly healed almost defy logic and current medical science.

So if you have a nagging physical or psychological complaint you’d like to get rid of, make this year your best yet and get in touch to book a session.

Sessions are best done face to face but can also be performed over Skype anywhere in the world.

If you are a coach, healer or therapist who would like to learn how to ’heal with time’, I will be demonstrating and teaching the techniques live at the next Bending Time Workshop.

So That Was 2012 !!

2012 2013Well that was a bit of a year !!

Before launching into 2013 (and taking a well deserved holiday in the sun), I thought it worth wrapping up the year on this blog with a bit of a summary of the journey I’ve been on this year.
Strangely, the only thing I had vaguely planned was to write Planes of Being but even then at the start of the year, the title and theme of the book weren’t fixed … roll on 2013 !!

So what’s planned for 2013?

Well not a lot as I am so looking forward to all the serendipities unfolding …

but I have a series of workshops planned for the last Thursday of each month – check out these happenings

… a book to co-author with the fabulous Vicki Wusche

… at least two new courses for Udemy

and the writing of next year’s opus on how to move to the next level of human evolution

So not much on really !!

Have a fabulous Xmas and stunning New Year

Introducing the AlphaZed

Alpha & OmegaThe English language, as rich as it is, is somewhat lacking in one major respect. I propose that it is missing something to give it some real zest.

The Greek language has 24 letters and starts with alpha and ends with omega. It also conveys the notion that the alpha and omega are implicitly linked and that, along with all the letters intervening, they form a wheel or circle.

This cyclical nature can also be seen in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. The cards 1 to 21 are linked by the zero card of the Fool and come back on themselves thus completing the Wheel of Life. Even Rotary Clubs were seeded by this notion although many of the members would be horrified if they knew. Just write the letters of the Tarot in a circle to see how the word itself too has embedded rotation in it.

Each of the Tarot cards has correspondences with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, starting with Aleph and ending with Tav. It is no surprise then that the Hebrew language has a cyclical nature too.

Even in packs of playing cards, the Ace can be high or low, connecting as it does the King and Two together. The Earth is round(ish), we orbit the Sun in an ellipse, galaxies are spiral and revolve around a central super-massive black hole. Circles and cycles are everywhere in nature.

So why is our English alphabet so boringly linear? When you get to the end of a dictionary or telephone directory, there is nothing to encourage you to go around again. Even A to Z maps are mere indexes and lists of street names with no rhyme, reason or interconnectivity.

When pointed out, this is an obvious notion. What’s to be done about it? Should we even care?

The reason why we have an alphabet with 26 letters that came from languages with 24 and 22 letters respectively is the stuff of a PhD thesis. I will leave the research into its evolution to other more worthy and knowledgeable scholars. I suspect though that the problem was seeded by the rise of a left-brained dominant society where ‘man’ kind was bent on mastering the elements and taking control over nature – not working with it.

By way of example, when Julius and Augustus Caesar were in power, they wanted months named after them. As a result, September to December were rudely pushed out of the way and made to be the ninth to twelfth months respectively. Any student of even rudimentary French will know their names are derived from the numbers seven to ten. Julius got July named after him and Augustus, August. Some days were even robbed from February to make them months of equal length. Such is the power of ego over the natural course of things.

In the same way, the elongation of our alphabet has caused us to loose the connective-ness of things. Even the name alphabet related to A followed by B – alpha by beta.

So let’s zest it all up a bit and throw the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons. I don’t propose we go backwards and ditch letters in order to get back to earlier rose-tinted times. Onwards and upwards is the clarion call.

What’s needed is a 27th connecting letter between A and Z and a new name for the sequence of our letters.

I will propose something for the latter and send out a message to the Universe (well the readers of this article) to provide suggestions for the former by way of Comments below.

By giving our language another letter, we extend it and augment the Universal Thought Pool.

So what do you think the 27th letter could be? A squiggle, a sign, a glyph – answers and suggestions by way of Comments below, a Tweet or a Facebook post.

And now, let’s sort out our alphabet and give it a new name and some added zest. Like all these things, the answer is trivial when you think about it and staring us in the face. Let’s call it the AlphaZed !!

What goes around around comes around.

Overstanding

Words are wonderful constructs. They allow us to swap and communicate our thoughts either verbally, in song or by the written (or typed) word.

They can educate, entertain and illuminate or, if wrongly chosen, annoy, anger or sadden. The construction of an individual word can hold intrinsic additional content or its root meaning might be corrupted or hidden by years of ‘chinese whispers’.

For example, the word inspiration both conveys the concept of ideas but also alludes to the oft-missed connection between the breath and thought itself.

Conversely the word palindrome, although a brilliant word, kind of lets itself down somewhat. It describes a word, or phrase, which is spelt the same when written forwards or backwards like ‘kayak’ or “Madam I’m Adam”. So why isn’t it a palindrome itself? That would linguistically brilliant. Come to thing of it, when applied to language especially shouldn’t that be ‘forewords’ and ‘backwords’.

Similarly, the lovely word onomatopoeia isn’t onomatopoeic like ‘cuckoo’ or ‘crack’.

The word understanding, although well meaning, also is a bit of a disappointment when you think about it. The reason being is that it implies that when you comprehend something that that thing is somehow above you and you under it.

A much better word would be ‘overstanding’ which implicitly means you are above the very thing that you are supposed to ’understand’. It is one of the many plays on words common in the Rastafari Language.

Here it is ‘overstood’ that the idea cannot be superior to its creator. The Rastafari philosophy asserts that every man woman and child are equal – this is the concept behind the term ’I-n-I’. The individual who is receiving the information is equal to the communicator of the information and superior to the idea being communicated. So we should not ’understand’ or stand under an idea; when you absorb and correctly perceive an idea, you ‘overstand’ it.

Definitions from the Urban Dictionary

Rastafari is full of much more linguistic richness. For example, the movement is always mind-full of a continual (I-tinual) remembrance of the struggle for emancipation. Similarly a concept is called an ‘I-cept’.

The language is also rich in humour with ’politricks’ replacing the word ’politics’. ’Everliving’ replaces ’everlasting’ implying and conveying the immortality of the soul. It is most commonly used in the phrase “I and I is Everliving, Everfaithful, Eversure. Ras Tafari.”

‘I man’ is the inner person within each Rastafari believer. ‘Irator’ replaces ‘creator’, and ‘Iration’ replaces ‘creation’. These are subtle yet deep concepts that science, and some religions, are only just getting their heads around. Implicit in these words is the description of how consciousness creates reality and not the other way around. Once this is fully embraced as a concept, the so-called Laws of Physics will add up and all that missing Dark Energy will appear from behind and under our noses.

When we take the time to analyse and think about what words really mean, we can make huge leaps in our ‘overstanding’.

Each year the Concise Oxford English Dictionary brings in a set of new words – and gets rid of some others. Just last month the rather trivial ‘mankini’ as popularised by Borat made it in, as did the ‘retweet’. Perhaps it is time both scholars and speakers of the dynamic and rich language we call English under-took a more comprehensive over-haul.

After all, you don’t under-haul anything, do you?

Circle of Influence

I was reminded recently of the power of gathering a Circle of Influence around you from an email I got a lovely soul in my networking circle, Amanda Goldston. On my desk, I then spotted the book by author Kuumba Nia called The Circle of One. Then I had a conversation about collaborating with a circle of complementary archetypes with Lillian Ogbogoh.

When you get messages in threes, it’s time to pay attention !!!

As I am now entering a new phase in my life and career as a speaker and author. I thought it would be handy to garner together as much support around me as possible.

So I had a musing on a dog walk on which people and souls, both living and departed, I would treasure having around me over the coming months and years. I’ve come down to a short list of seven of them whose wisdom, experience and achievements I admire greatly. I will be checking in with them regularly in meditation and while talking about existing books and creating the next ones. For the three that are still living, I would dearly like to connect with them by electronic means and ideally meet them in person one day.

My thinking is that achieving just 1% of what one of them had done individually would be a fabulous goal in itself. Where this might lead when some of their guidance rubs of collectively, God only knows.

I thought too it would be fun to run a competition based on my Circle. I’ve now augmented my book Flavours of Thought: Recipes for Fresh Thinking into a Second Edition with loads of new recipes and some more insights. It will be available in print and as an ebook by Autumn. I will send a pre-release copy of the ebook version to the first person to identify all the seven people in my virtual Circle correctly.

Here’s my Circle below – click on the image to see a higher resolution version.

To enter the competition, put your answers below as a comment to this blog. I will respond to each entry telling you how many you have got right. Multiple entries are accepted …

So Good Luck and why not have a go at assembling your Circle of Influence too?
