Some Moments with Lillian

I had the great pleasure yesterday of being interviewed on the Waking Passions show by the wonderful Lillian Ogbogoh about my new book on light bulb moments

You can tell the skill of a good interviewer by what they get out of their interviewee. I don’t think anyone has ever extracted so much information out of me in just an hour.

Thank you Lillian for such an enjoyable chat …

You can listen to it here …

and the two visualisations I mention during the show are here

Writing a Trojan Horse

Trojan HorseIf you have an important message you want to share with the world, how do you go about it?

The answer lies in writing a literary Trojan Horse using metaphor and story telling. The acknowledged masters in this art I strive to emulate are Paulo Coelho and Deepak Chopra.

The secular and the cynic might shy away from the Mind, Body, Spirit section of a bookstore – be it online or in the High Street.Sometimes this is for good reason as the writing can be inaccessible or a little preachy. Spirituality in general can also be ethereal in nature with no tangible real world benefits.

Let me share how I’ve been going about it.

When I wrote my first book, 100 Years of Ermintrude, I was told that I was channelling my work. My first reaction was to say, “Don’t be stupid, I’m not a medium.”

When I looked into it some more, I discovered channelling is really just getting your conscious mind out of the way so another form of consciousness can come through. The external consciousness may well be a dear departed spirit but can also be your guide, fairies at the bottom of the garden or even your Future-Self. I even teach how to do it now on my workshops and show how you can even channel the chair you are sitting on.

It turns out to be a great way to access your Creative Muse and is essentially what all the literary, artistic and musical greats have done down the years.

BlocksSo when I wrote my first non-fiction book, I thought it would be a good idea to write about channelling but to open up the ideas to a new audience – to all writers and creatives. The book turned out to be ostensibly about writer’s block – it is even simply called Blocks – and was published by a non-MBS publisher.

By writing about things that stop your Muse coming through, you cannot help but touch on topics that would appear in a book on channelling such as the collective consciousness, higher self, karma, the importance of breath and even the food you eat.

It even promotes, without mentioning it explicitly, the practice of active channelling where the author is in the loop and adding value and context. The book though doesn’t appear in the MBS section.

3d-bookcover-flavoursFor my next trick, I had the idea that it would be great to introduce a new audience to the magic and wisdom of the Major Arcana of the Tarot.

So I wrote Flavours of Thought which explains the essence of each key in simple contemporary language with no baggage. Furthermore it shows how triplets of cards can be combined into recipes to tackle many common and real world issues and opportunities.

In some ways, it’s a book of spells but without the baggage of any arcane ritual.

I managed to pull this off without mentioning the word Tarot once. The references are all there for those who want to learn more.

Light Bulb MomentsMy latest work published by O-books in 2011 is ostensibly about how to have light bulb moments on demand.

Guess what though? It’s really a book on how to prepare for ascension into the new awakened consciousness and merged mind. It is written to be read by business people, entrepreneurs and scientists as well as the spiritual awakened. By reading the book and following the exercises, you will raise your vibration and become a transceiver for the Light. I don’t of course use this type of language in the book.

Of course, you will also have loads of blindly good ideas you can use in your personal and business life and learn how to have the on demand and not at random!

The common themes of the work is to fabricate real world applications from spiritual practices. I call it making the esoteric into the exoteric – that is taking the unknown, occult and hidden into the known and understood.

I should also mention that each book was simultaneously published in print and for the Kindle, iPhone and iPad. They are also augmented by audio tracks to help get the reader into the perfect state of consciousness. I also merge words, video and audio into Enhanced Edition books and ecourses too.

Has this overall tactic worked you may ask?

Well the results for me have been the opening of new doors, new business opportunities and dialogues with those that have been searching for answers but want them delivered in a contemporary context.

There’s a number of new authors who are now happily writing and being published with a new and strong connection with their Muse. I find that spiritually aware businesses approach me and we can use spiritual practices such as channelling, timeline entanglement and manifestation in the board room … as well as the odd bit of magic.

This particular ‘horse’ is now riding on to the next project … the emergence synthesis of a new mode of consciousness, being and doing. I may choose to write the next book though with gloves off.

Anatomy of a Light Bulb Moment

When we meet people we’ve not seen for a while, we often ask “What’s new?”. If you get confronted with this question when not expecting it, you can get caught of guard, end up scratching your head and might even feel compelled to make something up.

On ‘slow news days’, you can imagine journalists do not have a good time and some have even been known to make up ‘news’. I love it when breakfast TV reports what is ‘new’ in the newspapers. At the same time, morning papers talk about what is ‘new’ on TV. This cycle feeds itself. We all know this is all not really ‘news’ at all, even though it’s on the News and in the News-papers.

You’ve also heard that phrase – “There’s nothing new under the Sun”.

So is it possible that anything is actually new? Now having a dig at journalists is not the point here – they have a job to do and provide a service many people want to consume. The point is for something to be really new, it has to possess some important characteristics.

Firstly, it only has to be new to us. You might know something that’s quite ‘old’ that I don’t and when you share it with me, it’s news to me. I may thank you and pass it on if I think it’s newsworthy.

Secondly, it might be something that has occurred for the first time. This could be some permutation that causes us to take notice. All too often, our news reports focus on ‘bad news’ only offering a token ‘And finally …’ good news snippet at the end. What a breath of fresh air a ‘good news only’ news broadcast would be.

Thirdly is the class of news I personally find the most exciting and fascinating and that’s when something new is discovered or invented. Here we are acting in a generative capacity fabricating something new from existing parts or conditions.

When you are involved with ‘bringing in the new’ in this manner, and on a regular basis, it has an amazing affect on your health and well being. Being in an environment where renewal is the order of the day causes our brains to continually rewire and keeps our mind active. In turn, this active mind renews our body.

What makes generation of this type of news even more attractive to workers of light is that the two practices that encourage this type of ‘newness’ are meditation and respiration.

Meditation sets up the perfect conditions for light bulb moments to occur. A still mind allows ‘the new’ to arrive. In the converse situation, the same thinking delivers the same ‘old’ results. Fresh thinking leads to a fresh mind and a fresh body.

The fuel to encourage the introduction of such fresh thought is specifically delivered during the in-spiration phase of the re-spiration process. The hyphenation is not only intentional but provides some elucidation as to what is occurring.

As neurons do not have internal reserves for oxygen, more neuronal activity requires more oxygen to be delivered rapidly through the blood stream. Conventional wisdom suggests that more neuronal activity creates more connections and the likelihood of a ‘new’ connection being forged increases as a result. So deeper breathing while meditating causes more interconnectivity in the brain.

Now this might well be ‘news’ to you but I had the light bulb moment that it might be fun to use this technique to channel in what really goes on during this process. This was the result.

When you move your diaphragm, your spiritual muscle, it pump primes your pranic tube. This in turn stimulates your main chakra centres and a massive amount of intercommunication ensues. Initially this is mainly between your gut, heart and third eye.

After a few minutes, the pranic force seeps outside your physical body. Via your omega chakra, a few inches below your root chakra point, your prana seeps into Mother Earth and informs her you are ready to receive.

A microsecond later, it rises past your crown to your alpha chakra point just above your head. At this time, you become the pivot point between the superconsciousness and Lady Gaia – your heart being at the very centre.

If at that time, you are internally silent, information transfer occurs. It seems to happen outside time and inside space. Every neuron in your brain lights up and you experience the beginning of a light bulb moment. The process is not yet complete.

The information is passed to Mother Earth who checks it is safe and timely for you to receive it. It then passes into your gut centre for further ‘internal quality assurance’. Your gut then passes it to your heart centre so you can fall in love with the idea.

Finally, it returns to your third eye and is allowed to enter your outer cortex and your consciousness and you get a ‘new idea’. In real time, less than a second has elapsed. Yet, as all your ‘minds’ are in agreement, you know you have to act on this ‘news’ – it just feels right.

Your throat chakra might even get it on the act and shout “Eureka”!

Now I am hoping this mechanism for how we receive light bulb moments is ‘news’ to some of you. It certainly is to me.
